Things weren’t easy for him at the beginning. “I struggled with time management and I didn’t have confidence in my math skills,” says Jason. “But I asked a lot of questions in class and to my classmates. I spent a lot of time on my own problem solving and trying my best to understand the concepts.”

But in the end, it was a very rewarding journey. “The best thing about my experience would be spending time in the shop doing hands-on projects with many other like-minded apprentices,” says Jason. “The program definitely built confidence within myself, which in turn changed the way I look at problem solving within the carpentry field.”��
